2009 is shaping up to be a tough year for much of Britain. The shrinking economy continues to force large numbers of people out of their jobs. Whilst much of the media ceaselessly track the statistics, True Vision is keen to turn attention on the individuals and employers affected.

In a landmark observational documentary for BBC ONE, True Vision will get behind the figures and tell the personal stories of individuals, families and communities across Britain for whom 2009 will bring unrequested profound personal, financial and social changes.

We hope to get some sense of what the legacy of the current recession will be. To do this, over the following year, we want to follow a range of people through the full journey; from the immediate difficulties and shock of redundancy or imminent unemployment through to hopefully positive opportunities for change, either through a subsequent return to work or other options such as trying to start that business you've always dreamt of, applying to re-train as a veterinary nurse, selling up and retiring early to Greece, etc.

If you have a look around our website, you'll see the kind of films we make. They often deal with quite sensitive issues, but everyone we have filmed with in the past has enjoyed the experience whilst knowing they have made a valuable contribution highlighting a particular topic.
